As the term suggests, Digital Marketing is marketing which involves Digital technologies. It is correct, but it has more to explain.
Generally, people make misconceptions with Digital and Internet. they equate Digital Marketing with Internet Marketing (also referred to Online Marketing).
Digital Marketing includes different marketing terminologies within itself. Internet Marketing is one of them.
According to Wikipedia,
“Digital marketing is the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium.“

It is almost similar to traditional marketing, the difference is only of the channels we use for marketing and promotion.
